Matte Logo Lighters
The first matte lighter (black) was introduced into Zippo's stock line in 1984. Soon after the first introduction of the matte lighter four more colors were introduced: blue, burgundy, green, and grey. In 1985, the Zippo logo was imprinted on the lighter and a border was added. The Matte Lighters are created with a powder coat that is applied electrostatically to the brass case.
All Zippo windproof lighters are American made in our Bradford, PA factory.

Any Zippo pocket lighter, when returned to our factory, will be put in first class mechanical condition free of charge, for we have yet to charge a cent for the repair of a Zippo pocket lighter, regardless of age or condition. The finish, however, is not guaranteed.

Case
The matte logo lighters have a standard case shape featuring rounded corners and top with a flat bottom. The exterior of the case has a smooth matte finish that is applied with a powder coat.
A distinctive lasered five-barrel hinge authenticates this lighter as genuine Zippo.
Insert
Standard insert with 16 holes in the chimney (8 per side).
Bottom Stamp
The matte logo lighters have a distinctive lasered bottom stamp authenticating this matte lighter as genuine Zippo.
Packaging
Unless otherwise stated, every Zippo windproof lighter is packaged in the 'one box'. The patented 'one box' is attractive, easy to handle, and designed to display more of the lighter than ever.
