Responding to a growing need in the marketplace, Zippo introduced the pipe lighter in 1982, allowing users to choose their preferred Zippo flame for the very first time. Specifically engineered for the needs of pipe smokers, the pipe lighter insert is credited for kicking off Zippo’s long tradition of providing a distinct flame to suit virtually any preference.

To celebrate 40 years of our first custom flame, this zippo.com Collectible features an Armor® High Polish Chrome case with an Auto Engrave and Laser Two-Tone pipe insert design and a dazzling crystal affixed to the design’s strike wheel. Ornate filigree surrounds simple advice for optimal lighter performance while the back of the case features Zippo founder George G. Blaisdell’s iconic quote above his signature and portrait: “Build your product with integrity, stand behind it 100 percent, and success will follow.”

Inside, you’ll find the classic pipe insert with its characteristic chimney. Limited to 1,000 pieces, each piece is consecutively numbered, arrives in luxury packaging and is available exclusively at zippo.com. For optimal performance, fill with Zippo lighter fuel.
