Responding to a growing need in the marketplace, Zippo introduced the pipe lighter in 1982, allowing users to choose their preferred Zippo flame for the very first time. Specifically engineered for the needs of pipe smokers, the pipe lighter insert is credited for kicking off Zippo’s long tradition of providing a distinct flame to suit virtually any preference.

To celebrate 40 years of our first custom flame, this zippo.com Collectible features an Armor^® High Polish Chrome case with a Double Lustre pipe insert design and a dazzling crystal affixed to the design’s strike wheel. A swirling plume emanates from the pipe and is mimicked on the back of the case, where Zippo founder George G. Blaisdell’s iconic quote stands atop his signature: “Build your product with integrity, stand behind it 100 percent, and success will follow.”

Inside, you’ll find the classic pipe insert with its characteristic chimney. Limited to 1,000 pieces, each piece is consecutively numbered, arrives in velour packaging and is available exclusively at zippo.com. For optimal performance, fill with Zippo lighter fuel.
