Zippo Street Art Design
Following the end of World War II, America was making advances in technology. Zippo’s logo changed with the times, taking on futuristic looks with script reminiscent of growth and movement. The “script logo” was one of the most popular. This style started in 1948 continued until 1978, marking this year as the 70th anniversary for the Zippo Script logo.
All Zippo windproof lighters are American made in our Bradford, PA factory.
Image is die struck onto various metal substrates such as brass, aluminum, and pewter.
Laser and Auto Engrave
Zippo has two processes for engraving: auto engrave and laser engrave. Auto engrave is performed by skilled artisans to inscribe an image into the product using creative fill patterns. Laser engraving is computer programmed to generate an accurate replication of an imprint. These lasers can also be programmed to use two different depths, creating a unique contrast within the image, as shown above. This is called Laser Two-Tone.
State-of-the-art printing method allows Zippo to imprint multiple colors or full-color photographic representations.
Deep Carve Engraving
Using a 3D art software a milling machine accurately engraves deep contoured cuts into an Armor Finish creating an image you can feel on the lighter.
The Zippo Script lighters have a standard case shape featuring rounded corners and top with a flat bottom. A five-barrel hinge joins the top and the bottom.
Standard insert with 16 holes in the chimney (8 per side).
Bottom stamp with Zippo logo from the period authenticates these lighters as genuine Zippo.
Unless otherwise stated, every Zippo windproof lighter is packaged in the 'one box'. The patented 'one box' is attractive, easy to handle, and designed to display more of the lighter than ever.
