My MPL seems hard to operate.  What can I do to make this easier?

The MPL was designed to be difficult for children to ignite.  The child-safety button on the back of the MPL serves as a lock for the sliding silver switch on the top. To ignite the MPL this lock must first be released.  Some consumers are frustrated when they can't engage the sliding switch.  The solution is to first release the safety lock by depressing the black safety button, then slide the silver switch forward (not down).

Some users prefer the two-handed ignition method: Using both hands, place the index finger of one hand on the back of the MPL and depress the black safety button.  At the same time, use your other hand and slide the silver switch forward (not down). You may release the black safety button as soon as the MPL is lit.  The MPL will stay lit as long as the silver switch is pushed forward.
